Join the IAAP Online Community
The IAAP Online Community software offers IAAP Divisions and Chapters a professional website building solution that promotes the IAAP brand throughout all levels of our association. This software is easy to master and does not require extensive web development knowledge. In addition, the page design and editing tools are built into the system -- no external software is needed.
This community is designed to integrate every level of IAAP into a robust online community.
Features of the Web Community include:
-
Web hosting for Divisions and Chapters
-
A secured Members’ Only section at each level, maintained centrally by IAAP Headquarters
-
A calendar that contains entries from Chapter, Division, and Headquarters
-
Discussion forums at the local and International levels
-
Internal Communications Module that can act as an “instant messenger” or internal IAAP e-mail
-
Outstanding technical support and numerous training opportunities
Additional capabilities will be added to this Web community in subsequent phases in the future. Chapter and division representatives will be able to use these features without any expertise in web development.
One Login
The new community is a One Login system that delivers content from IAAP Headquarters and divisions right to the chapter site. Once a member logs in, they can move freely throughout the system participating in chats, entering and leaving “Members” Only” sections of not only their chapter site, but also the division and Headquarters sites. Access to these “Members” Only” sections are granted by the system according to IAAP Headquarters’ records. As members join or leave IAAP, access is granted and rescinded accordingly, with no extra effort on your part.
Autofill Technology
One of the major concepts enabling this community is our new “autofill” technology. Each level of IAAP (International, Division, Chapter) will have the ability to “push down” specific data to areas in sites beneath it in IAAP’s structure. This automatic filling in of information will allow division and chapters to focus on information that pertains to their chapter or division without updating information about other entities:
-
Each site will have pages that are autofilled from HQ that describe IAAP at the International level, such as “Benefits of Membership” or “About IAAP.” Each participating Division can autofill pages that describe IAAP at the Division level. As the data and statistics contained in these pages change, the pages on each chapter site will change accordingly. Chapters then need only focus on local content!
-
Each site will have a calendar that autofilled with information from by IAAP Headquarters. Participating divisions have the ability to enter information that will then be autofilled into chapter-level calendars. The chapter can then add its dates to the same calendar. One calendar contains every important date from the chapter level up to International with no extra data entry !
-
Each site will have a current and timely newsletter . IAAP Headquarters will create a newsletter and participating divisions and chapters can choose to use the autofill technology to add information to it. One newsletter is autofilled with important information from the chapter level up to the International level with no additional data entry, and divisions can be sure that each chapter’s newsletter contains accurate and timely division information!
Messaging
The IAAP Message Center allows HQ, Divisions, and Chapters to communicate without using an outside mail server. This keeps our members from using their company’s resources to conduct IAAP business. Members can, however, choose to receive email notification, at any email address they choose, when they receive messages in the IAAP Message Center. This feature also serves as an instant messenger. If two chapter members are in the system at the same time, they can participate in a “real time” conversation.
Simple Web Editing
The new interface for updating and creating pages looks just like your favorite office suite. Chapter and division leadership can restrict editing and creating pages to one or a few people… and you don’t have to search for someone with HTML ability!
Enhance Local Recruiting
This system is designed to drive traffic to local sites and then entice the visitors to give contact information. That information is immediately sent to a contact at a corresponding chapter. A great recruiting tool!
